The Role Seeking a creative, highly motivated, agile thinker with a passion for automation. The ideal candidate has a background in electrical or computer engineering with strong programming skills and can perform at a high level in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing facility. This person shall be comfortable supporting manufacturing processes on the production floor. As a Controls Engineer you will be addressing production issues alongside quality, manufacturing, and maintenance teams. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain and improve existing production processes by using continuous improvement and problem-solving techniques. What You'll Do • Configure, program, test and troubleshoot PLC based control systems and associated components • Electrical troubleshooting and testing of controls systems, control panels, and associated equipment • Diagnose and correct deficiencies in manufacturing processes and equipment • Develop innovative solutions • Design and deploy intuitive user interface displays • Propose and evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment • Effectively lead and support the installation, start-up, maintenance, and operation of automation systems • Support and actively interact with manufacturing and quality groups • Continuously improve quality, cost, responsiveness & safety Your Skills & Abilities (Preferred Qualifications): • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field, or equivalent working experience • 5+ years of experience with industrial automation or controls systems What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Required Qualifications): • Relevant auto industry experience and/or high-volume manufacturing • Areas of expertise: Manufacturing, Assembly Process, Laser Welding, Braze Welding, Plastic Welding, Molding, Machining, Induction Heating • Experienced in electrical safety and standards • Experience building new equipment • Well versed in functional machine safety • Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation control platform experience • Machine vision experience - Cognex, Keyence • Robotic experience - Fanuc • Additional control platform experience: Siemens, B&R, Omron • Additional programming experience: Python, SQL • SCADA/MES experience • Advanced understanding of Ethernet networks Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $106,600 - $163,400 Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
