You’ll lead transactions involving a range of service types, such as professional services, technology, and business process outsourcing (BPO) agreements. Your expertise in running complex requests for proposals (RFPs) and leading negotiations with multiple internal stakeholders will be essential to your success. You’ll develop and present procurement strategy recommendations, ensuring business requirements and industry insights inform your approach. In addition to executing and implementing procurement initiatives, you’ll take the lead in upskilling the team, especially in RFX processes, sharing your knowledge and fostering best practices. You’ll collaborate closely with legal resources to develop contract content and ensure CIBC’s risks are mitigated, regulatory requirements are met, and organizational costs are optimized.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Influencing and Negotiations – Demonstrate strong influencing and negotiation skills, engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Lead contract drafting, negotiations, and approval processes, ensuring adherence to CIBC’s Procurement and Supplier Governance policies. Take accountability for client issues and collaborate to develop effective solutions.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities – Apply effective self-management practices to balance multiple concurrent projects and objectives, making informed decisions about prioritization and time allocation.
  • Team Development & Knowledge Sharing – Lead efforts to upskill the procurement team, sharing expertise in RFX processes and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Who you are

Experience with professional services, technology, and BPO agreements, as well as familiarity with IT Services, ASP, SaaS, or Cloud-based contracts, is an asset.
  • You’re a relationship builder. You value diverse relationships and networks, building trust through respect and authenticity.
  • You’re client-focused. You engage with purpose and urgency to identify solutions, always striving to do what is right for clients.
