Full Job Description

Tinder is the most downloaded dating app in the world, and this is one of the most consequential product years in the company's history. Between IRL Events, Group Hangouts, a new visual identity, and a wave of features built to make dating feel more human, we're not just shipping updates, we're changing how people think about what Tinder is. This role exists to make sure the world notices.

There's never been a more exciting time to work at Tinder. We're doing something meaningful, helping people find their people, and this role sits right at the center of that story: translating product innovation into narratives that break through, backed by real data, told with real craft.

This is an opportunity to shape how Tinder shows up at the intersection of product and culture. You'll partner with Product, Product Marketing, Analytics, and Brand from the earliest stages of feature planning, not as someone who announces decisions already made, but as a communications partner in the room helping shape what the story is. ou'll also own the data side of the story yourself: spotting the angle inside a behavioral trend, getting it approved, and turning it into a pitch you take to press directly.

This role reports to the Head of Global Communications and operates from our New York office in a hybrid environment requiring in-office partnership 3x a week.

Where you'll work:
This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration three times per week. NYC or LA (preference for NY)

In This Role, You Will:
  • Build and lead communications strategy for major feature launches, partnering with Product, Product Marketing, and Brand from early planning through launch day
  • Translate product improvements into stories consumers actually care about, why a feature makes dating better, not just what it does
  • Turn complex product areas into simple, credible narratives with clear proof points
Spot creative, non-obvious angles in Tinder's product and behavioral data and turning them into pitchable stories that break through a crowded feed
  • Request and scope data pulls with Analytics, and shepherd every data-backed claim through approval (methodology, sample size, sign-off) before it reaches a reporter or agency
  • Packaging approved data and narrative for our PR agency partners to execute in-market pitch outreach
  • Bring comms' perspective into cross-functional launch planning early enough to help shape the story, flagging early when a narrative needs more definition or a claim isn't ready
  • Personally draft pitches and maintain your own press relationships

You'll Need
  • 5+ years in communications, ideally spanning both product and consumer storytelling in consumer tech
  • A track record of hands-on management of feature launches with cross-functional teams, from strategy through placement
  • Sharp instincts for finding the signal in a roadmap or dataset before anyone else spots it
  • A real read on how the media landscape is shifting, and genuine curiosity about newer formats like podcasts and social-first reporters, not just the traditional trade and consumer press
  • Live media relationships. When a reporter emails, you're the one who picks up the phone
  • Comfort being in the room early with Product, Product Marketing, and Brand, not just receiving a brief after the fact
  • Enough data fluency to look at a pile of behavioral numbers or performance metrics and find the one angle that's a compelling story

$ 155000- $170000 a year

The salary range for this position is $155,000 - $170,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.

As a full-time employee, you'll enjoy:

  • Flexible Vacation, 10 Sick Days
  • Time off to volunteer and charitable donations matched up to $15,000 annually
  • Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage
  • 100% 401(k) employer match up to 10%, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
  • 100% paid parental leave (including for non-birthing parents) and family forming benefits
