Your Role in Supporting Our Members: As a
Senior Commercial Banking Analyst, you will provide expert credit underwriting, financial analysis, and lending advice to support complex commercial financing transactions. Working closely with Commercial Banking Account Managers, Risk Managers, and business members, you will evaluate complex credit applications, conduct financial analysis, monitor existing commercial relationships, and provide recommendations that support both strong business outcomes and prudent risk management. We are seeking an experienced commercial banking professional with advanced credit expertise, sound judgment, and a passion for delivering exceptional member service while supporting community and environmental impact initiatives.
This is a
Full-time, Permanent role based at our
Vancity head office and will report directly to the
Manager, Commercial Banking Analysts. While this position provides a
hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands.
How You'll Make an Impact: - Underwriting complex commercial and business lending applications with a focus on larger and more sophisticated credit relationships
- Collaborating with Commercial Banking Account Managers to structure financing solutions that meet member needs while aligning with Vancity's risk appetite
- Participating in discussions with members regarding financing requests and leading conversations related to financial and structural aspects of transactions
- Analyzing financial statements, cash flow, security, and credit risks to support sound lending recommendations
- Partnering with Commercial Banking Account Managers and Risk Managers to achieve timely and effective credit approval decisions
- Acting as an alternate point of contact for business members within the assigned region
- Performing annual credit reviews and monitoring existing lending relationships to ensure ongoing compliance with covenants and risk requirements
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to Commercial Banking Analysts to support capability development across the team
- Reviewing commercial member accounts, deposits, and supporting documentation to support anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing requirements
- Participating in community events and building strong relationships with members and local stakeholders
What You'll Bring to the Team: - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3-5 years of progressive experience in commercial banking, business banking, commercial credit, or lending analysis
- Strong expertise in commercial credit underwriting, financial statement analysis, and risk assessment
- Experience evaluating complex lending transactions, large commercial relationships, and interconnected borrower structures
- Demonstrated ability to structure lending solutions and prepare comprehensive credit recommendations
- Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, security documentation, and risk management principles
- Experience working with anti-money laundering and regulatory compliance requirements within financial services
- Exceptional analytical, relationship management, and communication skills
- Professional designation such as CFA or CPA, or equivalent financial designation is considered an asset

What You'll Earn: This role offers a salary range of
$76,500 to $99,000 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
