Position SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Collaboration Platform Engineer to lead the engineering, administration, and optimization of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments across a global enterprise. This role is responsible for ensuring both platforms operate reliably, securely, and efficiently while delivering a consistent and high-quality user experience.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise across both ecosystems and can effectively support a dual-platform environment through strong execution, automation, and operational ownership.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlatform Engineering & Global Operations• Engineer, administer, and support Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments across all regions.
• Manage core services including M365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Entra ID) and Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Meet, Admin Console).
• Monitor platform health, performance, and service reliability; proactively resolve issues.
• Serve as the senior escalation point for complex incidents and platform-related problems.
User & Access Engineering• Engineer and support user lifecycle processes (joiner, mover, leaver) across both platforms.
• Manage identity, licensing, mailbox provisioning, storage allocation, and group membership.
• Maintain role-based access controls and consistent permission models across systems.
Governance Implementation & Enforcement• Implement and enforce enterprise governance policies (access, sharing, naming, retention).
• Identify and remediate oversharing, orphaned data, and misconfigurations.
• Support audit and compliance activities.
Coexistence & Platform Support• Support dual-platform operations (M365 and Google Workspace).
• Troubleshoot mail flow, calendar interoperability, and file access issues.
• Improve user experience by reducing friction between platforms.
Identity & Integration Engineering• Maintain identity synchronization (Entra ID, Google Identity).
• Support integrations with Workday, Halo, and IAM solutions.
• Troubleshoot provisioning, sync, and authentication issues.
Automation & Engineering Efficiency• Build and maintain automation using PowerShell, Graph API, and Google Admin SDK.
• Improve operational efficiency through automation and standardization.
• Develop reporting for usage, health, and licensing.
Security & Compliance Operations• Maintain MFA, access policies, and auditing.
• Support eDiscovery and retention requirements.
• Monitor risks and remediate misconfigurations.
Support & Cross-Team Collaboration• Provide Tier 2/3 engineering support.
• Partner with service desk teams to improve workflows.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and business teams.
Documentation & Knowledge Management• Maintain runbooks, procedures, and documentation.
• Contribute to knowledge base content and training.
• Promote engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 8-12+ years enterprise IT experience with M365 and Google Workspace.
• Experience supporting coexisting platforms at enterprise scale.
• Strong knowledge of Exchange Online, Gmail, SharePoint, OneDrive, Google Drive.
• Experience with Entra ID and Google Identity.
• PowerShell and automation experience.
• Experience in global, multi-region environments.
Preferred Qualifications• Experience with Halo ITSM and Workday integrations.
• Experience optimizing multi-platform environments.
• Knowledge of IAM/SSO solutions.
• Relevant Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace certifications.
