POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

Alutiiq, LLC a subsidiary of Afognak Native Corporation has an opportunity for a Sr. Cloud Architect. The Sr Cloud Architect will support enterprise systems and secure infrastructure modernization. This position will provide local, on-site technical ownership while influencing long-term technology strategy. The organization continues to expand its U.S. presence and is looking for someone who can translate complex business and mission requirements into scalable, resilient network solutions. Will work closely with cybersecurity, cloud, software, and operations teams while helping shape the future that supports critical customer missions around the world.

The selected candidate will design, implement, and sustain secure enterprise systems capabilities across Windows, Linux, virtualization, directory services, DNS/DHCP/NTP, PKI/certificates, storage, backup and recovery, monitoring, patching, configuration management, and automation. The role will also coordinate closely with network and cyber teams to ensure systems are connected, secured, monitored, scanned, accredited, and operationally supportable.

  • Ensured alignment of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and protocols with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Led the design and operations of an enterprise security architecture to address compliance requirements, technology risk, and emerging threats
  • Define enterprise cloud architecture patterns and standards for Microsoft Azure, hybrid cloud, and on-premises environments, ensuring solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, interoperable, and cost-effective.
  • Analyze industry trends focused on cloud computing and data platform technologies.
  • Lead hands-on build and configuration M365 Tenant (Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Plan and drive migration and cutover onto the new environment, coordinating timing and minimizing disruption.
  • Coordinate vendors and third parties (networking, telecom, hardware, ISPs) and hold them to schedule.
  • Zero Trust & Cybersecurity Architecture: Incorporate Zero Trust principles, identity-centric security, network segmentation, data protection, continuous monitoring, and cybersecurity requirements into enterprise architecture designs.

Pay Range: $140,000 to $160,000 Annually

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 6 or more years of solid, diverse work experience in cloud computing, data delivery applications, analytics or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience providing architectural guidance and technical direction to developers, or platform administrators.
  • Experience in building applications/platforms using agile scrum methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft GCC\GCC High.
  • Strong Microsoft stack: Entra ID, Intune, M365 (Exchange Online / Teams / SharePoint), Windows Server, and core networking.
  • Expert knowledge of enterprise routing and switching technologies including BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, VRF technologies, VLANs, Layer 2/Layer 3 segmentation, and high availability architectures.
  • Experience designing network architectures aligned with NIST 800-171/53 security controls and risk management frameworks.
  • Extensive knowledge in application transport and network infrastructure protocols (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, NTP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, and Microsoft AD), and a deep understanding of how to support these applications/protocols when accessed through VPN and firewall appliances.
  • Experience with VMWare.
  • Strong analytical ability, problem analysis techniques, and broad knowledge of technology alternatives.
  • Strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with business and IT partners.
  • Network engineering / firewall background (Cisco, Palo Alto) as a complement.
  • Prior federal / DoD / regulated experience (CMMC, NIST 800-171, ITAR).
  • U.S. Citizen.

Their traditional homelands include Prince William Sound and outer Kenai Peninsula, the Kodiak Archipelago and the Alaska Peninsula.
