Job DescriptionAs a
Sr Chemical Process Engineer here at Solstice Advanced Materials, you will use your in-depth understanding of chemical process engineering fundamentals and leadership skills to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. Collaborating with other managers and engineers, you will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping groundbreaking projects, expanding existing processes, and developing the next generation of Advanced Materials products by designing, testing, and validating products from pilot scale to market.
You will report directly to our
Operations Manager and you'll work out of our Geismar
, Louisiana location on a
9/80 work schedule. In this role, you will also oversee and mentor other process engineers, ensuring their professional development and the successful execution of projects.
In this role, you will impact Solstice Advanced Materials by optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring high product quality, and minimizing environmental impact. Your expertise in troubleshooting, implementing advanced technologies, and analyzing data leads to increased efficiency, cost savings, and adherence to regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Serve as a process safety resource on a team leading Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and Risk Assessments by developing closure plans and strategies for identified risks.
- Oversee production to ensure targets are met and track Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), developing actions to address any detractors.
- Lead and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations to identify and resolve issues.
- Create and assist in the Management of Change (MOC) process to ensure safe and compliant operations.
- Ensure adherence to environmental regulations and drive improvement projects for the unit.
- Provide assistance in the field during plant startups, shutdowns, or upsets.
- Offer off-hours support for abnormal and non-routine operations, including unit turnarounds.
- Organize and design plant testing procedures.
- Influence others and drive toward solutions without direct authority.
- Mentor and supervise other process engineers, providing technical guidance and support for their professional growth.
- Actively participate in Pre-FEED and FEED development for projects, including process scope and design solutions for growth, cost savings, and HSE projects.
- Oversee the development of process models, heat and material balances, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, layout, basic control schemes, and equipment specifications.
QualificationsYOU MUST HAVE- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
- 5+ years of Process Engineering experience in chemical plants.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- Strong technical expertise in chemical engineering principles and practices.
WE VALUE- 10+ years of Process Engineering experience in chemical plants.
- Experience working with advanced control strategies
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering techniques to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Demonstrated understanding of modelling software.
- Six Sigma certification.

Compensation:The annual pay for this position is $121,108 to $151,679. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline.
