Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

Senior Business Partners cultivate and maintain deep relationships with senior leaders to ensure business needs are well-understood, met and continually represented in the shaping of the people strategy agenda for Sunwing.

The Senior Business Partners understand the broad current state of Sunwing and their designated business units from a people perspective, make recommendations on a future state that aims at more effectively shaping the people strategy, crafting solutions and driving a performance-based workforce in partnership with the Group WestJet HR team and WestJet Centers of Excellence (CoE).

What You'll Do:
  • Translate business strategy into people focus initiatives in partnership with CoE's, and specifically lead the way in setting short term and long term strategies for recruitment, retention and engagement of the business group(s) supported.
  • Work with Senior Leadership to assess talent across the business unit for depth and bench strength against growth plans. Collaborate with other Senior Business Partners to solve for lateral, cross functional talent opportunities for leaders.
  • Provide coaching to leaders on development and succession. Identify opportunities for individual growth and development as well as provide coaching to individual senior leaders needing development plans.
  • Be solutions focused and a change agent.
  • Leverage workforce data to formulate people insights and recommendations. Provide context to data and be able to translate data into a story for the business.
  • Ability to manage a project, roll out a program on a wide scale, work with multiple stakeholders, and communicate effectively to all stakeholders including at the executive level.
  • Provide senior level subject matter expertise with respect to HR policies/programs directing as they are initialized throughout the organization and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Role model collaboration. Shares knowledge broadly across the Group WestJet HR team.

What's You'll Need:
  • 6+ years of experience working in an HR Generalist role
  • Extensive experience across Human Resources including change management, performance management principles, career development, learning, and organizational development and assessment
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative manner and deliver strategic ideas and solutions, while building strong collaborative relationships with senior leaders
  • Deep skill set in understanding and interpreting business issues and requirements; achieving this though building rapport, inquiry, listening and diagnosing, summarizing, seeking agreement, influencing and obtaining agreement and commitment
  • Demonstrated ability to build meaningful, positive, business relationships with leaders located across multiple locations
  • A self-starter, who brings timely and relevant insights to the leadership table
  • Ability to resolve conflict and work under pressure and prioritize competing demands
  • CPHR is considered a strong asset
