The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.

As the Sr. Business Manager for National Security Programs, you will work in close collaboration with the Sr. Director of Program Management, responsible for the strategic and financial oversight of a portfolio of programs. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the successful execution of programs from a business perspective, from proposal to completion. You will be a key leader in driving business growth, ensuring financial performance, and fostering strong customer relationships within the national security sector. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong business acumen, a deep understanding of government contracting, and extensive experience in finance and cost management to operate effectively in a dynamic and complex environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Act as a delegate for the Sr. Director of Program Management in key business management functions, including strategic planning, financial oversight, and customer engagement.
  • Lead the development and implementation of business strategies to achieve program and portfolio growth objectives.
  • Oversee the financial performance of programs, including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and variance analysis.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of government contracts, including DoD and other agency contracts, from proposal development and negotiation to contract closeout.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with government customers and industry partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all government contracting regulations and company policies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of program and business professionals.
  • Identify and mitigate business risks and opportunities across the program portfolio.
  • Support the Sr. Director in the development and presentation of executive-level briefings and reports.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in business management, program control, or a related role within the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Proven experience managing the business aspects of large, complex government programs, including with DoD customers.
  • Deep understanding of government contracting, including FAR/DFARS regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, cost management, and budgeting for complex programs.
  • Experience with various contract types (e.g., FFP, CPFF, T&M).
  • Active Top Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Excellent financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
  • Experience with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) or other National Security customers.
  • Proven track record of winning new business and growing existing programs.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance.


Base Pay Range for:
WA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20
