Sr. Business Director, Credit Settlement Risk (Global Payment Network)

As the head of the Global Network’s Credit Settlement Risk team, you will step into a foundational "builder" role, developing the next generation of risk frameworks for a rapidly expanding ecosystem.

This is an opportunity for a strategic leader to move beyond maintaining legacy systems and instead define what "best-in-class" looks like in a modern payments environment. Leading a world-class team of analysts and managers, you will directly influence our growth trajectory by balancing robust network protection with the agility needed for innovation. • Team Building & Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of credit analysts and portfolio managers to assess and monitor network exposures.

  • Program Ownership: Own the Network's program for managing credit settlement risk in close partnership with the 1st Line business, Finance, and 2nd Line risk teams.

  • Collateral & Recovery Management: Take primary responsibility for overseeing credit collateral requirements, collections, and end-to-end recovery processes.

  • Continuous Improvement & Growth: Drive continuous improvement opportunities to reduce credit risk and position the Global Payment Network for sustainable, long-term growth.

  • Evolving Payment Flows: Collaborate with product and finance teams to assess and mitigate risks related to the settlement of funds, particularly in new and evolving payment flows.

  • Operational Health & Compliance: Ensure transactions flow reliably, issues are identified early, settlement risks are mitigated, and global network and regulatory requirements are consistently met.

  • Risk Culture & Advisory: Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management, acting as a trusted advisor to product managers on incorporating risk mitigation strategies into their roadmaps.

  • Executive Communication: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect and negotiation skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • At least 5 years of experience performing quantitative analysis

  • At least 5 years of experience performing qualitative analysis

  • At least 3 years of experience performing people management

  • At least 3 years of experience performing project management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

  • 5+ years of experience in people management

  • 3+ years of experience in product development

  • 3+ years of experience in financial modeling

  • 3+ years of experience in economic forecasting

  • 3+ years of experience in global payments ecosystem including acquiring, issuing, and network settlement mechanics
