Sr. Business Director, Credit Settlement Risk (Global Payment Network)
As the head of the Global Network’s Credit Settlement Risk team, you will step into a foundational "builder" role, developing the next generation of risk frameworks for a rapidly expanding ecosystem.

General Responsibilities:
Strategic Risk Leadership: Lead the Global Payment Network's Credit Settlement Risk team and manage the overarching risk management framework.
Team Building & Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of credit analysts and portfolio managers to assess and monitor network exposures.
Program Ownership: Own the Network's program for managing credit settlement risk in close partnership with the 1st Line business, Finance, and 2nd Line risk teams.
Collateral & Recovery Management: Take primary responsibility for overseeing credit collateral requirements, collections, and end-to-end recovery processes.
Continuous Improvement & Growth: Drive continuous improvement opportunities to reduce credit risk and position the Global Payment Network for sustainable, long-term growth.
Evolving Payment Flows: Collaborate with product and finance teams to assess and mitigate risks related to the settlement of funds, particularly in new and evolving payment flows.
Operational Health & Compliance: Ensure transactions flow reliably, issues are identified early, settlement risks are mitigated, and global network and regulatory requirements are consistently met.
Risk Culture & Advisory: Foster a culture of risk awareness and proactive risk management, acting as a trusted advisor to product managers on incorporating risk mitigation strategies into their roadmaps.
Executive Communication: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect and negotiation skills.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree
At least 5 years of experience performing quantitative analysis
At least 5 years of experience performing qualitative analysis
At least 3 years of experience performing people management
At least 3 years of experience performing project management
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
5+ years of experience in people management
3+ years of experience in product development
3+ years of experience in financial modeling
3+ years of experience in economic forecasting
3+ years of experience in global payments ecosystem including acquiring, issuing, and network settlement mechanics
3+ years of experience in risk management (credit risk, operational risk, or settlement risk)

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $269,600 - $307,700 for Sr Business Director
New York, NY: $294,100 - $335,700 for Sr Business Director
Riverwoods, IL: $245,100 - $279,800 for Sr Business Director
Chicago, IL: $245,100 - $279,800 for Sr Business Director
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
