Position Overview

Jensen Hughes is seeking a BIM Coordinator to join our expanding Phoenix, AZ team, and support large-scale, technically complex projects. This role is responsible for coordinating BIM models, driving clash resolution, and ensuring alignment between design, engineering, and field execution.

The BIM Coordinator plays a key role in model-based project delivery, supporting both design coordination and construction implementation in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Model Coordination & Integration
  • Coordinate and manage BIM models (fire protection, life safety) across all project stakeholders
  • Perform and lead regular clash detection using Navisworks, facilitating resolution workflows and tracking issues through closure
  • Ensure models are constructible, coordinated, and aligned with field installation requirements

Project BIM Execution
  • Support and enforce the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), including modeling standards, naming conventions, and workflows
  • Maintain model health, integrity, and version control across all project files
  • Drive consistency in Level of Design (LOD) requirements, model updates, and deliverables across trades

Field & Design Coordination
  • Act as a bridge between design teams and field operations, ensuring models accurately reflect real-world conditions
  • Coordinate with field teams to resolve discrepancies between design intent and site conditions in real time
  • Participate in or lead coordination meetings, communicating model updates, priorities, and constraints

QA/QC & Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to QA/QC processes for all BIM deliverables
  • Identify and proactively resolve design/model inconsistencies and constructability issues

Project Controls & Communication
  • Collaborate with project managers to track RFIs, change requests, and model updates, ensuring timely incorporation into the model
  • Provide clear communication and reporting on coordination status, clashes, and risks
  • Support project scheduling by aligning model deliverables with key milestones

Continuous Improvement & Leadership
  • Identify opportunities to improve BIM workflows, coordination efficiency, and model quality
  • Support onboarding and mentoring of junior modelers/coordinators (as applicable)
  • Stay current with industry best practices and BIM technologies (Revit, Navisworks, etc.)

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, BIM, or related technical field
  • 3+ years of BIM coordination experience, ideally on large, complex or industrial projects
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD
  • Experience performing clash detection and managing coordination workflows
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary project environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience on semiconductor, data center, or large industrial construction projects
  • Experience supporting field coordination and construction-phase BIM execution
  • Familiarity with BIM Execution Plans (BEP), LOD standards, and model governance
  • Experience leading coordination efforts or mentoring junior staff
  • Understanding of fire protection/life safety systems and codes (NFPA, FM Global)

Key Competencies
  • Strong cross-functional communication and coordination skills
  • High attention to detail, quality, and model accuracy
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Collaborative mindset with ownership of coordination outcomes
