Job Summary

The Senior Assortment Planner is a strategic contributor responsible for driving sales growth and inventory productivity through the development and management of optimized product assortments across assigned categories. This roleleveragesadvanced analytics, deep understanding of customer and market trends, and strong cross‑functionalcollaboration to deliver assortments that maximize profitability, improve sell‑through, and support businessobjectives.Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Assortment Planner partners closely with Merchandising, Inventory, Supply Chain, and Channel teams to translate insights into actionable assortment strategies that balance customer demand, space constraints, and inventory efficiency. 

What will you do?

  • Assortment Strategy:Define and execute seasonal and promotional assortment strategies that align with enterprise objectives, customer demand, and category growth priorities.
  • Insight & Analytics:Leverage sales performance, market trends, and customer insights to guide assortment decisions, uncover growth opportunities, and optimizecategory outcomes.
  • CrossFunctionalPartnership:Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Inventory teams to ensure assortments are aligned, promotable, and supported with the right availability.
  • Inventory Optimization:Monitor inventoryhealth, turnover, and productivity to maximize profitability while minimizing excess and obsolescence risk.
  • Performance Reporting:Develop and present clear, actionable reporting on assortment performance,highlighting trends, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders. 
  • Market Intelligence:Maintain ongoing awareness of industry trends, competitive offerings, and evolving customer behaviors to inform forward‑lookingassortment decisions.

Location & Work Availability

This position is Hybrid (4 days in office, 1 day remote), based at our corporate headquarters in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Qualifications 

  • Advanced SQL proficiency for data extraction, analysis, and reporting across assortment planning systems. 

  • Experience with assortment optimization tools and methodologies, preferably within the retail sector. 

  • Strong project management capabilities, with a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives with competing deadlines 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently while effectively engaging with project managers and cross-functional stakeholders. 

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. 

  • Comfortable navigating complex datasets and systems, with a focus on driving actionable insights and operational efficiency.

Certifications, Experience, and Education 

  • Certifications: None 

  • Experience: 3-5 years related experience in Inventory Management, Assortment Planning, or Supply Chain   

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Mathematics or related field; OR equivalent combination of experience and education.
