Senior Associate, Neurology Medical Marketing - Operations & Programs
What you will do

The Senior Associate, Neurology Medical Marketing - Operations & Programs will provide operational coordination and executional support across the U.S. Neurology Medical Marketing organization, including the Opinion Leader Engagement & Peer-to-Peer and Insights & Congress Strategy sleeves. Reporting to the Neuro Medical Marketing Lead, this individual will convert strategic priorities into clear project plans, reliable operating rhythms, accurate trackers, and well-prepared teams across gMG and NMOSD.

This role is designed to build a strong foundation in Medical Marketing while ensuring priority medical marketing workstreams are executed flawlessly. The Senior Associate will work closely with Senior Manager and Manager leaders, HCP Operations, agencies, and cross-functional partners to support congresses, Speaker Bureau and P2P programs, advisory boards, field insights, budgets, and team operations. The role will own defined operational workstreams and receive structured stretch opportunities to build broader marketing judgment, customer understanding, and strategic capability.
 

Key Responsibilities
Strengthen Medical Marketing Operations
  • Maintain the integrated Medical Marketing calendar, workback plans, action logs, status trackers, and core documentation across P2P, opinion leader engagement, insights, advisory boards, and congress workstreams.
  • Coordinate recurring planning, status, preparation, and debrief meetings; prepare agendas and materials, capture decisions and actions, and follow through with accountable owners.
  • Support budget tracking, purchase-order and invoice coordination, forecast inputs, and reconciliation activities in partnership with workstream owners, Finance, Procurement, HCP Operations, and agency partners.
  • Build consistent operating tools, templates, and file-management practices that improve visibility, reduce duplication, and enable the team to deliver work on time and with appropriate controls.



Support Congress Planning and Execution
  • Support the Insights & Congress Strategy and Opinion Leader Engagement & P2P leads with congress kickoffs, project plans, internal readiness meetings, deliverable tracking, and pre-congress/post-congress closeout activities.
  • Coordinate (internal/external) congress communications and operational documentation, including sponsorship tracking, required submissions, stakeholder updates, vendor coordination, and deadline management under workstream-lead direction.
  • Help prepare cross-functional meeting schedules, materials-routing plans, and on-site coordination details for approved Medical Marketing activities; maintain clear records of decisions, commitments, and follow-up actions.
  • Compile planning inputs and support post-congress debriefs, insight capture, and action tracking so learnings are visible and usable by the broader franchise team.
  • Partner with Professional Marketing on handoffs and interdependencies while respecting its ownership of booth-related and sales-driven assets, including Tier 3 local conference kits.
     
Enable Speaker Bureau and P2P Program Readiness
  • Maintain accurate speaker and program-readiness trackers across the Speaker Bureau lifecycle, including nomination status, contracting coordination, training completion, content access, and activation needs.
  • Coordinate speaker training operations, including training calendars, invitations, attendance, completion records, materials readiness, follow-up actions, and appropriate documentation.
  • Partner with HCP Operations and the P2P lead to help ensure trained speakers have timely access to approved materials and that program requirements, system updates, and readiness steps are completed.
  • Support marketing-led HCP education and engagement programs with project plans, materials routing, stakeholder communications, vendor logistics, budget tracking, and program closeout; escalate risks or delays early.
     
Support Advisory Boards and Insight Operations
  • Provide detailed planning and logistics support, inclusive of agency management support, for advisory boards and other approved insight-generation activities, including timelines, meeting logistics, participant-status tracking, contracting coordination, materials routing, and vendor coordination.
  • Support the TLL field-insight operating model by organizing submissions, maintaining defined intake processes, tracking follow-up questions, and preparing accurate summaries and readout materials for review by the Insights lead.
  • Help maintain insight repositories, source materials, and action trackers so customer, scientific, field, and congress learnings can be efficiently accessed and acted upon.
     
Build Commercial and Medical Marketing Capability
  • Take on defined stretch assignments across the two sleeves, such as improving a process, building a dashboard, supporting a content-development workflow, or leading a time-bound component of a congress, P2P, or insight initiative with coaching from the accountable leader.
  • Develop working knowledge of UPLIZNA, gMG, NMOSD, customer segments, Medical Marketing roles, promotional review requirements, and the operating standards required in a regulated environment.
  • Seek and apply feedback from leaders and partners; demonstrate increasing judgment, ownership, communication effectiveness, and ability to anticipate team needs over time.
     
Collaborate and Deliver with Excellence
  • Build strong working relationships across HCP Operations, HCP Marketing, Medical Affairs, Field Medical, TLLs, Sales, Training, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, Procurement, Global, Professional Marketing, and external agencies.
  • Manage sensitive information, budgets, deadlines, and partner interactions with professionalism, accuracy, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to compliance.
  • Contribute to a team culture of scientific curiosity, customer centricity, collaboration, ownership, continuous improvement, and high standards of execution.
  • Drive operational excellence by maintaining marketing systems, identifying process improvements, and fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture while living Amgen Values.

What We Expect of YouBasic Qualifications
  • Master's degree; OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization; OR
  • Associate's degree and 6 years of marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization; OR
  • High school diploma / GED and 8 years of marketing and/or business experience in a role aligned with a Marketing/Sales commercial organization.
     
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, science, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Experience supporting marketing, commercial operations, medical marketing, meetings and events, or other complex cross-functional programs; biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, or healthcare experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting the development and execution of promotional marketing materials, including the promotional review process and the Material Approval Compliance (MAC) process.
  • Neurology, rare disease, or specialty pharmaceutical experience.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple timelines, details, and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort working with budgets, purchase orders, invoices, trackers, and operational reporting; proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, curiosity, and a willingness to learn in a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience with systems such as Veeva, Workday, SAP/Ariba, or CRM platforms is a plus.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
