Job Description

Title: Sr. Applications Engineer

Position Summary:

This position performs engineering work related to researching, designing, and testing components, or subsystems used in the field of power generation. This position must be able to interpret and calculate equations efficiently and effectively, along with identifying trends or root cause based on test data. The focus of this position is primarily on the development of power generation systems.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Specify, size, and select subsystem components for power systems designs according to Engineering Guidelines
  • Test and validate top level power systems as well as sub-level power system components
  • Contribute toward design of new product via product sizing and selection
  • Review and verify product performance via testing
  • Assess reliability performance of product versus requirement
  • Post-process test data and develop engineering reports

Basic Requirements: 

  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in testing mechanical and electrical systems, OR
  • In lieu of a degree, at least 9 years’ experience in testing and validating power generation systems or combustion engines.
  • Willingness to travel 10% domestically and internationally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional understanding of internal combustion and diesel engine technology, including heat transfer and thermodynamic principles.
  • Extensive experience in engine and system component testing to specified standards.
  • Advanced knowledge with engine instrumentation, data acquisition systems, signal processing, and data management.
  • Preferred experience with: Matlbab\Simulink, NI Labview, PLC Programming, Networking (TCP, RS232, RS485, CANBus)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills, with proven ability to work in teams and adapt quickly to new circumstances.
