What you'll be doing

You'll be joining CIBC's Alternate Solutions Group. You'll be at the heart of CIBC's digital transformation, delivering complex, enterprise-scale solutions across multiple front-end and back-end systems. As a Full Stack Developer, you'll design, build, and maintain secure, resilient services and web applications using Node.js, .NET/.NET Core, Blazor, and Angular. You'll lead the technical design, development, and integration of these applications and services across channels.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed

  • Design and development - Lead and perform complex full-stack development activities. Design RESTful APIs and microservices using Node.js and .NET/.NET Core. Build rich web UIs with Angular and Blazor. Define the application's technical architecture, including data models, integration patterns, testing strategies, and performance considerations.
  • End-to-end ownership - Take features from idea to production: requirements refinement, solution design, implementation, automated testing, deployment, and monitoring. Ensure solutions are secure, scalable, observable, and easy to support.
  • Strategic planning - Contribute to and help evolve multi-year technology roadmaps that align with the bank's vision, strategy, and business goals. Lead complex projects involving backend services, modern front-end frameworks, and integration with existing platforms and APIs.
  • AI-driven development - Use tools like GitHub Copilot and other generative AI assistants effectively: write clear prompts, review and adapt AI-generated code, and help the team adopt "vibe coding" workflows that improve quality and speed while maintaining strong engineering standards.


Who you are

  • You can demonstrate strong hands-on experience with:Back-end: Node.js, .NET, .NET Core, RESTful API design, integration with external services. Front-end: Angular, Blazor, modern JavaScript/TypeScript, responsive UI development. Core engineering practices: Object-oriented and functional design principles, secure coding, unit and integration testing, API and UI automation, CI/CD pipelines, version control with Git. It's an asset if you have experience with: DevOps & Platform: Azure (or other cloud), CI/CD (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps/Jenkins), infrastructure as code, monitoring/alerting.Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes (OCP or similar), containerized microservices, service mesh concepts. Data & Messaging: SQL/NoSQL databases, caching, message queues (e.g., Service Bus, Kafka, Solace), event-driven architectures.AI-driven development: Prompt engineering, effective use of GitHub Copilot and similar tools, integrating AI into day-to-day coding ("vibe coding"), documentation, and testing workflows.
