Position Overview:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Quality Assurance General Merchandise for Tim Hortons, this role will have responsibility to ensure the quality of all Tim Hortons Merchandise meets or exceeds the high quality standards established by the company.  The position will be responsible and accountable to support development of all new commodities and enhancement of existing through direct support with Tim Hortons Category Management team and Approved Vendors.

RBI follows a 5 day, in-office work schedule to support collaboration. Successful candidates will be expected to work onsite 5 days per week based out of our Toronto, ON office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead different categories of general merchandise products in North America QA for TH providing on-site support in Corporate office

  • Under indirect supervision, responsible for development, maintenance and enforcement of product safety and quality control programs and procedures to monitor the quality of assigned commodity suppliers for 5,000 restaurants and Ecommerce business

  • Develop, review and maintain relevant specifications; third party audits, internal audits and other Quality Assurance documents and programs that result in quality consistency and safe facility conditions

  • Provide product safety and quality expertise to Product Development teams to identify and address any potential safety and quality concerns and ensure all RBI requirements are incorporated into product design and manufacturing

  • Act as RBI's technical expert in commodity category by executing investigations and providing advice to the Crisis Management Team on quality issues and actions with safety implications and perceptions

  • Monitor and assesses Federal regulatory changes by agencies such as Health Canada and CPSC to ensure RBI legal compliance

  • Participate in on-going enhancement of Continuous Improvement programs, especially of the RBI Specification System (SPEQ)

  • Evaluates consumer and restaurant complaints and address quality issues with suppliers and verify corrective actions/preventive measures.

  • Lead the Product Incident Management process with internal stakeholders, suppliers and government agencies

  • Manage relationships with suppliers and third party testing vendor to develop, track, review, and approve projects through the entire product development process, including sample reviews and approvals.

  • Manage QA timelines, and commercialization milestones to ensure on time delivery of approved products

  • Work in cooperation with Product Development, Category Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Legal, Guest Services, and Tim Hortons Corporate throughout product life cycle

  • Mitigate Quality risk during development process from Samples stages to Bulk Production

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Quality Assurance experience, preferably in drinkware, apparel, seasonal, toys, accessories, and other retail merchandise or similar manufacturing and/or Retail/Ecomm environments

  • 3+ years corporate experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Science or other Quality-related field equivalent work experience

  • Experience working with international vendors

  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, supplier quality management, laboratory testing procedures and processes to monitor supplier performance standards

  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of working independently while contributing effectively within a team environment

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical data, laboratory reports, and quality metrics to support sound business and supplier performance decisions

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse audiences and stakeholders

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Strong analytical abilities combined with critical thinking and problem-solving

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels and with external partners

  • Excellent organizational, planning, prioritization, and project management skills, coupled with strong follow-up capabilities

  • Highly detail-oriented, process-driven, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

This posting is for an existing vacancy. Base salary range of $80,000– $100,000 CAD. Base salary for this position may vary based on relevant factors such as experience, education, location, and skills. This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual discretionary bonus plan, subject to the terms and conditions of the incentive program, based on individual and company performance metrics
