Full Job Description

At RBI, we recognize that our guests no longer make food decisions based only on the food itself, but rather the entire experience surrounding the meal - and that experience is becoming increasingly digital. We’re building a React and Node stack to support an ordering platform spanning across the three brands. We’re solving technically interesting problems while building products designed to engage and delight our users.

By collaborating with partners across the brands, we are able to seamlessly integrate the physical and digital experience for our customers. The Whopper Detour helped the Burger King app reach #1 in the app store when it launched, and the new Tims Rewards program had been used by 20% of Canadians within two months of launching.

RBI follows a 5 day, in-office work schedule to support collaboration. Candidates should be comfortable working onsite 5 days per week out of our office in Miami, FL.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and implement innovative next generation systems in food tech and high-performance products and services for hundreds of millions of global users
  • Drive best practices and engineering excellence as part of a positive and cohesive team
  • Provide detailed and constructive design and code reviews to teammates on their code
  • Write multiple forms of testing, including in unit, integration, and end-to-end
  • Create best-in-class software based on an understanding of business and technical priorities and needs

What You'll NeedToSucceed:

  • 5+ years of IT experience working on real-life, consumer facing products and services
  • Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and relevant frameworks, React preferred
  • Experience with CSS, CSS pre-processors (SCSS/LESS), and/or CSS-in-JS (Styled Components)
  • Experience using modern JavaScript/TypeScript build and packaging systems
  • Experience with Node and relevant frameworks, NestJS and/or Express preferred
  • Familiarity with serverless technology like AWS Lambda or other cloud offerings
  • Experience with both functional and object-oriented programming patterns
  • Knowledge of both relational and non-relational database systems and their tradeoffs in practice
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/related fields or relevant industry experience

Extra Ingredients for Success:

  • Experience with Component Libraries like MUI
  • Experience with React-Native and/or mobile development
  • Knowledge of analytics databases and data pipelines (OLAP, ETLs)
  • Experience with data visualization, preferably in React (Recharts, D3, Victory, etc.
