As a Sr Advanced RF Engineer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and management of complex systems and solutions that drive innovation, safety, and efficiency in the aerospace industry. You will work within cross-functional teams on cutting-edge projects that transform the way aircraft operate. Your experience in RF engineering will be instrumental in shaping the future of aerospace technology.

You will report directly to our Director of Engineering, working out of Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule.
  • New hires are expected to report 100% onsite M-F for the first 90 days of employment.

In this role, you will impact the development and delivery of cutting-edge solutions that support Honeywell's aerospace initiatives, helping to drive innovation and maintain our leadership in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the RFIO interface layer between digital (FPGA/software) and RF subsystems.
  • Design, develop, and optimize RF circuits, subsystems, and antenna systems for aerospace applications.
  • Perform RF system analysis, simulation, and testing to ensure compliance with performance and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF solutions into avionics and electronic systems
  • Experience with FPGA or embedded software interfacing to RF hardware
  • Strong debugging and integration skills across hardware and software domain
  • Drive customer engagement while delivering programs on schedule, within scope, and on budget.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance and mentorship on critical technology projects.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in technical discipline such as Electronics and Electrical Engineering.
  • 6 years of experience in RF engineering, preferably in aerospace or related industries

WE VALUE
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Assembly.
  • Excellent/familiar with python to develop test scripts to run test equipment and evaluate how the RF software, Firmware, and RF hardware interact at the "system level"
  • Understand software development process (requirements, traceability, verification and validation - ideal if familiar with DO-178B).
  • Strong expertise in RF circuit design, antenna theory, and electromagnetic simulation tools
  • Proficiency with RF test equipment such as network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators, along with experience in RF system integration and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards and regulatory requirements related to RF systems and electromagnetic compatibility
  • Advanced degrees in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or related fields
  • Experience with high-frequency PCB design and microwave engineering
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiar with lab test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer)
  • Excellent debugging skills and strategies which require interacting and monitoring hardware.
