Role Overview

The Senior Advanced Engineering Support Specialist serves as a leader and collaborator in engineering documentation, technical data integration, and authoring for the Engines and Power Systems (E&PS) organization. This role provides templates, guidance, and best practices for critical engineering documentation, coordinates initial drafts and final releases, and supports engine certification and qualification projects. The position is geared toward technical expertise in documentation and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support documentation efforts for engine certification and qualification projects
  • Generate outline templates and boilerplate for various document types; draft original text as needed
  • Manage project planning and scheduling; act as liaison between engineering groups
  • Communicate requirements to stakeholders; coordinate data preparation, approval, and submittal
  • Create and maintain databases to track program data; prepare schedule fidelity and cost status reports
  • Champion consistent document standards and updates across businesses
  • Assist with group best practice activities and drive process improvements
  • Collaborate with engineering management and peers to analyze and interpret data requirements (SOW, CDRL, FAA FAR Part 25/33, and other specifications)
  • Administrative, project management, communication, and knowledge management tasks


Qualifications

Must Have:
  • 6+ years technical communications experience may be considered
  • 3+ years technical writing expertise and enterprise processes experience
  • 3+ years experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Extensive knowledge of publications processes, tools, documentation types, and formats
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, or related discipline
  • Sigma Green Belt certification (desired)
  • Skilled in Project Management
  • Experience Teamcenter, SharePoint, HTML, CSS, Confluence, IBM DOORS®
  • Good understanding of technology
  • Some engineering experience
