Job Summary:
The Standard is seeking a talented Actuary to join our Employee Benefits (EB) division, supporting products such as disability, group life and AD&D, dental, and vision. In this role, you’ll influence product strategy and results, working closely with senior leadership across actuarial and multidisciplinary business teams.
Responsibilities include preparing financial statements, analyzing business results, and presenting insights to business units and executive leadership. In this role, you will represent the actuarial perspective, identify key drivers and trends, and help improve processes and tools through a continuous improvement mindset. A strong attention to detail and ability to review and challenge work are critical to ensuring accurate, insightful analysis and clear executive communication.
Note: This role may be filled at either of the levels noted below based upon applicable experience and career path:
Actuary: Operates from a seasoned vantage point resulting in "big picture" thinking, business insight, actuarial innovation and intuition, influence, and leadership. Draws on broad and deep understanding of how economic, social, regulatory, geopolitical and industry change impacts our business. Combines this knowledge with business acumen and actuarial principles associated with own practice area to design and deliver actuarial solutions to business problems and drive strategic business actions. ASA required.
Senior Actuary: Possesses broad actuarial, financial and industry expertise combined with unique product line knowledge, uses skills to contribute to the achievement of company goals. Applies broad and deep understanding of how economic, social, regulatory, geopolitical and industry change impacts our business. Combines this knowledge with business acumen and actuarial principles to identify, assess and advocate for new, innovative and market leading risk/return opportunities consistent with the Company's strategic goals. Works on significant and complex issues where analysis of situations requires evaluation of quantitative, qualitative, forward looking and organizational factors. This position requires a very experienced and knowledgeable actuarial viewpoint in a wide variety of actuarial subjects, as well as company, industry & regulatory practices. FSA Required.
Skills and Background You’ll Need:
Education: Bachelors degree
Certification: Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) required; Fellowship progress or FSA strongly preferred.

Eligibility to participate in an incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program and plan. Any award depends on a variety of factors including individual and organizational performance.
The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data.
Salary Range:
$137,000.00 - $200,750.00Positions will be posted for at least 5 days from original posting date.
