Job Description

As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will: have a broad range of responsibilities involving many aspects of the monthly financial close and play a critical part in day-to-day accounting operations. This role is also responsible for assisting in the preparation of support for our quarterly & annual financial reporting. This team player will also interface with our external auditors to provide information and support during quarter end reviews and year end audits

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the monthly GL close, including processing of journal entries, account reconciliations and the preparation of a variety of financial reports and analysis.
  • Coordinate, review and approve certain internal financial reports.
  • Remain current on new accounting guidance and working with technical accounting team to implement new technical pronouncements and new transactions impacting the financial statements.
  • Coordinate with other teams within the Company in various projects and unusual transactions.
  • Work closely with international accounting teams to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Develop and improve related processes and controls to ensure accurate reporting of monthly and quarterly financial results.
  • Lead automation accounting systems and applications as it relates to accounting operation and reporting process.
  • Drive and manage projects to improve standardization and accelerate close timing.

Essential Functions
  • Review and post journal entries. Manager month close tasks.
  • Review Staff Accountant work for accuracy and inclusiveness.
  • Review monthly account reconciliations in a variety of areas.
  • Maintain supporting documents required for verification of accounting data.
  • Maintain GL accounts to meet business and reporting needs.
  • Prepare various schedules for purposes of supporting cash flow and SEC disclosure.
  • Perform flux analysis at both US and consolidation levels.

Abilities & Competencies
  • Strong technical accounting expertise in U.S. GAAP
  • Extremely attentive to detail
  • Strong general ledger accounting skills required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • Oracle experience highly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal team skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Must be organized and able to work well under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • CPA and Big 4 accounting experience highly valued
  • Previous public tech company experience highly valued

Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $140,000 - $200,000 Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. All roles are eligible to participate in the Fortinet equity program, Bonus eligibility is reviewed at time of hire and annually at the Company's discretion
