Job Summary The Senior Accountant II - Wholesale Accounting executes accurate and timely transaction processing and executes settlement, reconciliation, and reporting activities across Vistra’s diverse energy portfolio.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities
Executes complex tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls.
Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
Reviews and reconciles information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve processes and implement best practices.
Assists in preparing and reviewing reports, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.
Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development.

Role Specific Accountabilities:
Prepare and analyze settlement data for monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities, supporting timely and accurate financial reporting.
Lead wholesale activities such as the end-to-end settlement lifecycle, including data validation, dispute resolution, invoice generation, and revenue/cost recognition across various transaction types.
Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives, contributing settlement insights to support business strategies and regulatory compliance.
Participates in special projects as required.
Supports compliance with the departments accounting governance framework.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience:
3+ years of experience in Accounting or related field
Experience preferred in the Energy industry, but not required
Skills:
• Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems​
• Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills​
• Process improvement oriented ​
• Fundamental understanding of the accounting close process
