Job Summary
The Senior Accountant II performs essential accounting and reports for the Company in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities
• Executes complex tasks with a strong understanding of relevant policies, procedures, and controls.
• Analyzes data, identifies trends, and provides insights to support decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Reviews and reconciles information to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve processes and implement best practices.
• Assists in preparing and reviewing reports, ensuring clarity, completeness, and adherence to guidelines.
• Supports continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
• Provides mentorship and guidance to junior team members, contributing to knowledge sharing and skill development.

Role Specific Accountabilities:
• Prepares various journals, account reconciliations, and monthly reports.
• Coordinates, consolidates, reports and prepares analysis of financial transactions to aid management in decision-making.
• Effectively interfaces with other Vistra personnel to ensure appropriate accounting and reporting deadlines are achieved.
• Participates in special projects as requested.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in Accounting or related field
• Experience preferred in the Energy industry, but not required

Skills:
• Experience with accounting and/or reporting systems
• Strong financial analysis, problem solving & communication skills
• Process improvement oriented
• Fundamental understanding of the accounting close process
