Sr. Accountant - Corporate Accounting

Job Summary

Role will report to the Senior Manager - Corporate Accounting and be responsible for owning the Corporate segment balance sheet, intercompany accounting, T&E processes, administration of the Blackline account reconciliation tool, and other corporate controllership activities as necessary. The role will also prepare the monthly Corporate Finance segment income statement analysis to present to the Chief Accounting Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Monthly, Quarterly and Year-end close
  • Prepare monthly journal entries related to:
    • Debt and interest expense
    • Health and welfare benefit accruals
    • Miscellaneous Accruals
  • Perform intercompany reconciliations to ensure appropriate intercompany matching
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations
  • Prepare quarterly income tax provision entries with input from the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting
  • Support preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated US GAAP financial statements and provide inputs to annual footnote disclosures related to:
    • Commitments & contingencies
    • Debt
    • Leases
    • Interest and taxes paid
    • Fixed assets
  • Prepare quarterly lease accounting entries under ASC842 including utilization of the CoStar lease administration tool
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and maintenance for Corporate fixed assets
  • Taxes
  • Prepare tax-related journal entries and account reconciliations
  • Assist with the coordination of various income tax related audits
  • Ensure timely payment of tax assessments and quarterly estimated taxes
  • Assist Chief Accounting Officer with income tax-related initiatives
  • Assist with income-tax related requests for annual tax compliance and the year-end audit


  • Systems & Process Improvement
  • Utilize SAP and other financial systems to prepare reports and perform analyses
  • Participate in finance process improvement and automation initiatives
  • Quarterly reconciliation of SAP trial balance to the TM1 consolidation system
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort


  • Other
  • Primary point of contact with external auditors and assistance with overall annual audit coordination
  • Ensure timely filings of Ad hoc census filings; ensure timing submission by the business units.


Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Strong systems aptitude
  • Exposure to PCAOB audit requirements a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Deadline-driven with keen attention to details
  • Ability to work independently to solve problems
  • Quick learner; ability to pick up responsibilities with minimal training; multi-tasking capabilities are important


Experience
  • 3-5 years of public accounting or commensurate industry experience
  • CPA a plus
  • SAP and Blackline experience a plus and preferred
  • Strong Excel skills and other Microsoft Office Suite tools
  • Experience in driving the month-end and year-end close process including coordination with external auditors


Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Pregis's total compensation package. Compensation also includes a competitive benefits package and may also include bonuses, and other on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is estimated to be $90,000 - $115,000.
