Data Warehouse Engineer (SQL Server), you will make an impact by designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise-scale data warehouse solutions that support critical business and analytics initiatives. You will be a valued member of the Data Engineering team and work collaboratively with business stakeholders, analytics teams, risk management teams, and enterprise technology partners to deliver high-performing data solutions.
In This Role, You Will:- Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server-based data warehouse solutions supporting large-scale enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server and SSIS to process high-volume structured data from multiple source systems.
- Develop advanced T-SQL stored procedures, views, functions, and transformation logic to support business-critical data requirements.
- Implement and support dimensional data models, including fact and dimension structures, SCD Type 1 and Type 2 processing, and incremental load frameworks.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune database performance through query optimization, indexing strategies, and workload analysis.
- Integrate data from APIs, external vendors, and legacy platforms into modern analytics environments.
- Support enterprise data migration initiatives, including modernization of SSIS-based ETL solutions into ELT architectures.
- Collaborate with business users and technical teams to ensure data quality, scalability, performance, and SLA compliance.
- Develop operational monitoring and metadata tracking solutions to improve transparency and reliability of data platform operations.

What You Need to Have to Be Considered- 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or SQL Server Development.
- Strong expertise in SQL Server, T-SQL development, stored procedures, views, functions, and database design.
- Experience designing and supporting large-scale data warehouse environments with multi-terabyte datasets.
- Hands-on experience with SSIS and SQL-based ETL/ELT development frameworks.
- Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, star schemas, fact and dimension design, and data warehousing best practices.
- Experience implementing incremental load processes, Change Data Capture (CDC), and SCD Type 1/Type 2 methodologies.
- Proven experience with SQL query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
- Experience integrating data from APIs, external vendors, and multiple enterprise source systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
These Will Help You Stand Out- Experience within financial services, banking, risk management, or regulatory reporting environments.
- Experience migrating legacy ETL solutions to modern ELT architectures.
- Knowledge of Teradata-to-SQL Server data migration and transformation strategies.
- Experience building metadata-driven frameworks and operational monitoring solutions.
- Experience with Power BI, paginated reporting, and business intelligence platforms.
- Experience working in Agile environments using tools such as Jira and GitHub.
- Familiarity with enterprise risk analytics and regulatory data platforms.

The annual salary for this position is between
$88,000 - $127,000, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for
Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
