What You Will DoAs a PA or NP in Spine Surgery, you will work closely with the surgeons to evaluate pre-operative and post-operative spine surgery patients in the clinic and the hospital, as well as first assist in the operating room.
- Join an established team of 5 surgeons and 10 APPs
- Call structure: 1/8 weekend call requirement with call pay
- Practice setting: mix of both inpatient and outpatient
- Employed position within a nonprofit health system
Responsibilities:- Provide direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician.
- Obtain patient history and performs assessment. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic procedures.
- Provide and document direct treatment and management of health conditions.
- Provide counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
- Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.
What You Will NeedLicensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Education:
- Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred.
Work Experience:
- 1 year of experience preferred.
Additional PreferencesAcute Care Certification preferred and RNFA required for all NP applicants.
