Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on resident goals and clinical needs
  • Conduct dysphagia assessments and provide evidence-based swallowing interventions
  • Treat residents with neurological, cognitive, and medically complex conditions
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, residents, and families
  • Educate residents, caregivers, and staff regarding treatment recommendations and compensatory strategies
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and discharge planning activities
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with facility, state, federal, Medicare, and reimbursement requirements
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans to maximize outcomes
  • Support resident safety, communication, nutrition, and overall quality of life


Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required
  • Current California Speech-Language Pathologist License required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or eligibility to obtain
  • Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Experience in Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Post-Acute Care, Rehabilitation, Long-Term Care, or Acute Care settings preferred
  • Knowledge of dysphagia management, modified diets, and swallowing disorders preferred
  • Experience with cognitive, neurological, and medically complex patient populations preferred
