Spectrum Management Specialist

Contingent upon prime contractor approval

Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Spectrum Management Specialist in Huntsville, AL working Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Spectrum Management Office (SMO) within the Office of the Chief Engineer.
  • This role focuses on advancing mission-critical initiatives through comprehensive spectrum lifecycle management including system certification, frequency authorization, interference resolution, and global deployment.

Job Description:
  • Deliver operational and administrative aid to the MDA SMO (CED) under the Specialty Engineering Director.
  • Manage and maintain the Frequency Authorization tracker for all MDA missions, ensuring absolute data accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop, author, and submit System Certifications (DD1494) utilizing STEPSTONE and EL-CID programs.
  • Develop, coordinate, and submit frequency authorization requests utilizing Spectrum XXI (SXXI) for developmental, fielded, and new systems.
  • Develop, update, and maintain critical reports and databases to support operational and engineering activities.
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve electromagnetic interference (EMI) issues between developmental and deployed systems.
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, and technical solutions to support knowledge sharing and team efficiency.
  • Develop, update, compile, and submit Host Nation Coordination (HNC) packets and Site Surveys for globally deploying systems.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 7+ years of relevant experience.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a military spectrum management school, preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience within federal/DoW spectrum management, preferred.
  • Ability to obtain / Active Top Secret / SCI security clearance, preferred.
  • Experience with Spectrum XXI (SXXI) , preferred.
  • Knowledge of the NTIA Manual (Redbook) , preferred.
  • Experience with the GEMSIS suite (Stepstone, Host Nation Spectrum Worldwide Database Online [HNSWD-O], Joint Spectrum Data Repository [JSDR], Integrated Spectrum Desktop) , preferred.
  • Knowledge of electromagnetic propagation modeling, wave behavior, and signal attenuation, preferred.
  • Experience with MATLAB or other programming languages, preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Joint Spectrum Interference Resolution Online (JSIR-O) portal, preferred.
  • Experience with NTIA EL-CID, preferred.
  • Knowledge of standard engineering practices, preferred.
  • Experience with automation tools or programming/scripting languages to aid in data analysis, preferred.

Security Requirements:
  • Must have an Active Secret clearance and the ability to maintain it.

Travel Requirements:
  • Minimal Travel; 10% or less
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
