Full Job Description
ORTEC is seeking a Specials Manager to manage and coordinate the daily activities related to the quoting and fulfillment of special and off-standard products. In this role, you will work closely with product managers and sales teams to deliver customized solutions that meet specific customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the quoting, assembly, testing, and documentation of customized ORTEC products
  • Design, quote, assemble, test, document, and service customized products to meet specific customer needs
  • Communicate the status of customer orders for customized ORTEC products clearly and effectively to operations and sales teams
  • Analyze and interpret test data to ensure products meet customer expectations
  • Perform fabrication and/or assembly operations as required
  • Provide customer support, installation, and onsite training for custom integrated systems as needed
  • Demonstrate the ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and cost efficiency
  • Identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs


Requirements

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Understanding of radiation detection and/or gamma-ray spectroscopy strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of cryogenic vacuum systems preferred
  • Hands-on experience using hand tools and soldering for assembly work
