JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Opportunity

The position of Specialist Project Management to support the Workplace Functional Delivery Specialist is within our Toxicology business unit, located in our Kansas City, MO, and Richmond, VA offices.

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing functional delivery within Commercial projects within the business unit. This candidate will coordinate tasking with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to Operations, Finance, National Accounts, Clinic Solutions, Product, Quality, Regulatory, Human Resources, and IT, to ensure that all deliverables are completed correctly and delivered on time.

What You'll Work On

  • Create and manage the integration of project schedules, tactical delivery scope, and advise on function delivery strategies. Ensure the project scope is defined, completed on time and on budget, and in accordance with any other constraints.
  • Develop project documentation necessary to capture project purpose, progress, and achievement of key milestones, including communication plans, risk/issue logs, status reporting presentations, and other artifacts.
  • Communicate effectively with functional stakeholders by providing accurate updates, ensuring appropriate levels of engagement, monitoring key performance indicators, and other factors necessary for the success of the project.
  • Provide project management oversight for small to medium tactical delivery assignments.
  • Execute hands-on delivery task in support of the functional assignment.
  • Work closely with various SMEs within Operations, Finance, Account Management, Marketing, Clinic Solutions, Quality, Product, Regulatory, Human Resources, Contracting, and IT to gather requirements, outline deliverables, and establish a project plan approach.
  • Track progress and proactively communicate the impact of changes (e.g., scope, cross-functional resources, timelines, risks, costs, etc.) to stakeholders.
  • Ensure that teams are equipped and prepared per the appropriate phase requirements to present at key business and IT software review meetings; that all appropriate stakeholders within and outside the business unit are apprised of review meetings and the results thereof.
  • Exhibit professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the company's policies and practices; build productive internal/external working relationships.
  • Understand the quality consequences that may result from poor management of a specific project or improper execution of an initiative.
  • Carry out duties in compliance with established business policies and other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience, supporting projects through planning, execution, and delivery

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Workplace Drug Testing, Occupational Health, healthcare, or other regulated environments
  • Exposure to project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project)
  • Client-facing and cross-functional collaboration experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey project expectations, updates, and feedback to stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
