Job Description Summary

Position Objectives:
The Specialist, Power - LA28 Olympics is responsible for planning, technical oversight, and delivery of temporary power and HVAC solutions across the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic & Paralympic Games. This role partners closely with LA28 Energy, venue stakeholders, and internal Olympic program teams to translate high level power strategies into executable designs and operational plans. The position evolves from early design and integration through venue installation and live Games-time operations, ensuring reliable, compliant, and resilient power delivery across a multi-venue Olympic environment.

Position Responsibilities:
• Serve as a senior technical and operational liaison between Sunbelt Rentals and LA28 Energy, ensuring alignment with Olympic power strategies, redundancy standards, and Games-time operational protocols.
• Contribute expert guidance during the Olympic design phase, advising on temporary power generation, distribution, cabling, and load management consistent with prior Olympic Games best practices.
• Support the development and execution of the integrated Olympic power master plan across competition, non-competition, and overlay venues.
• Translate Olympic-level design concepts into executable scopes, schedules, and logistics plans in coordination with Program Management, Scheduling, Logistics, and Procurement teams.
• Provide oversight of budgets, rate cards, scope changes, and change orders throughout design, build, and operational phases.
• Identify and mitigate delivery risks associated with Games-time power operations, including contingency planning, redundancy, and resilience strategies.
• Perform quality control reviews throughout development and implementation to ensure adherence to Sunbelt Rentals and LA28 standards.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and leadership of Olympic-experienced operational power teams during installation and Games-time operations.
• Makes regular trips to the host city of the Olympic Games throughout early project phases. Will transition to full-time onsite residence as the Olympic Games approach and during the Games.
• Other duties as assigned by manager.

Requirements:
Education & Experience:
• Associate's degree in Electrical Technology, Power Systems, Engineering Technology or a related technical discipline required
• 5 plus years of experience with managing temporary power delivery for major multi-venue international sporting events such as Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup, Cricket World Cup, and Pan American Games and previous Olympic Games.
• Knowledge in working within organizing committee structures, international federations, and multinational delivery teams.
• Knowledge of leading power delivery across multiple venues under compressed timelines and high operational risk.
• Comprehensive knowledge of electrical design principles and the application of temporary power systems in complex, multi venue environments.
• Strong knowledge of project management tools and collaboration platforms, including spreadsheets and scheduling software.
• Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience guiding cross functional and distributed teams.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Advanced problem solving skills, including the ability to assess issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutions.
• Effective delegation and team coordination skills to ensure efficient task distribution and workflow management.
• Excellent analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and data-driven decision-making.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in fast-paced environments.

Base Pay Range: $108,430.00 - 149,091.80
