Join Fairstone as a Specialist, Performance Management, reporting to the Director, Performance Management , and be part of our talented and growing team!

About the role:

The Performance Management Specialist will serve as the finance business partner for DIRECT LENDING which includes Unsecured, Secured and Real Estate Lending. The individual will support the business teams and associated supporting functions including Operations, Marketing and Product teams. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset. Reporting to the Director, Performance Management this position will be responsible for leading planning & forecasting of the business' full financial statements, business analysis and management insights.

  • Lead the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) activities including the Annual Operating Plan, Quarterly Forecasts, and Business Outlooks (3-10 Year Plans).
  • Support the management team for the Direct Lending Business to develop and maintain tracking of key business drivers and product contribution margin for key business segments.
  • Lead business performance and variance analysis, including key business metrics, income statement, balance sheet, and regulatory metrics.
  • Participate in the Annual Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process which includes conducting stress test, audit review and communicating with regulatory body.
  • Support overall Direct Lending on Operating Expenses, including volume driven expenses.
  • Work closely with business partners and financial reporting team to prepare management reporting packages and presentations for the ownership group and board.
  • Champion a strong data-driven environment, providing fact-based strategic insight to business partners to identify risks and recommendations to improve future business performance.
  • Business Growth - Support the development of business cases and investment analyses, initiative tracking, and post implementation reviews.
  • Finance Transformation - Play a key role in enabling the capabilities of a newly launched cloud-based implementation of financial software and optimization of financial planning tools.
  • Data Driven Organization - Be an advocate of transforming data to simplify decision making and presentation of complex information. Lead the development of management dashboards, business models and data platforms.

What we're looking for:
  • Finance / Accounting designation (MBA, CPA/CMA, CFA)
  • 5+ years of experience in Finance/Accounting
  • 3+ years Financial Services industry experience
  • Strong financial modelling capabilities with experience creating robust financial plans, forecasts, and projections
  • Previous experience coordinating rigorous forecasting and planning cycles and corresponding outputs
  • Relevant financial institution experience including management and OSFI regulatory reporting, understanding of capital requirements
  • Previous experience in Financial Services, focus on personal lending would be an asset
  • Strong business and process acumen, with ability to analyze strategic requirements, create innovative solutions, and develop action plans
  • Experience in developing financial models and dashboards within industry Business Intelligence Tools (PowerBI, Alteryx, Anaplan or OneStream) would be an asset
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly collaborative, hands-on approach
  • Solution-oriented, strategic business partner

What you can expect - pay & process:
  • Expected base salary range is 95,000$ - 120,000$ , plus the opportunity to earn an annual incentive bonus tied to performance.
