Responsibilities

  • Lead the establishment and ramp-up of engineering in a high-volume automotive manufacturing operation
  • Foster strong relationships among team members and support their development through coaching and mentorship
  • Collaborate with Japanese teams from Mazda and Toyota
  • Work with manufacturing teams to ensure timely delivery of parts
  • Monitor supplier performance across North America and Japan
  • Manage component parts flow and adjust inventory levels on the shop floor
  • Oversee crisis management and coordinate with all supply chain stakeholders

Full Job Description
Initially will lead the establishment and ramp-up of engineering at a large, high-volume, cutting-edge automotive manufacturing operation. As a part of the above, and on an ongoing basis will also: - Establish strong team member relations, at all levels and provide support for people development, coaching and mentoring with a focus on teamwork and inclusion - Collaborate with Japanese team members from Mazda and Toyota - Work cross-functionally with manufacturing/conveyance Team Members to ensure on-time delivery of parts to production - Monitor and evaluate supplier performance from the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Japan - Daily monitoring of component parts flow and adjusting inventory levels to achieve appropriate inventory levels on the Shop floor, identifying and acting on abnormalities within the supply chain - Crisis management and coordination with all internal and external supply chain stakeholders - Lead problem solving efforts to countermeasure and mitigate impact of abnormal supply chain conditions - Support new model launches and shutdown coordination activities - Contribute to and support annual business plans and strategies to support Mazda Toyota Manufacturing priorities - Support change point management activities impacting production and production systems - Ability to work and travel outside of typical business hours when needed (domestically and internationally)  What You Bring - Bachelor's Degree (or Higher) in Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Business Management, Information Technology, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related manufacturing bachelor’s degrees, or equivalent work experience - Mathematical skill, which may include a college Major or Minor in Mathematics - Cross-functional problem-solving skills and experience - Experience coordinating, presenting, or leading decision-making meetings - Strong Microsoft office skills, specifically Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and PowerBi - Ability to work up to 20 hours overtime during peak times, including weekend/holiday work - Flexibility to work 2nd shift and or rotating shift pattern What Will Set You Apart - Bilingual English/Spanish - Experience working directly with suppliers for supplier performance management - Toyota Parts Ordering experience within a high-volume production environment - Operational knowledge of eKanban ordering system - Vehicle manufacturing experience within a Body Weld, Paint, Assembly shop, or suppliers - Functional project management skills in a large-scale manufacturing environment - Developing project strategies, problem-solving and countermeasures  What We Offer At Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA Inc., we offer the opportunity to end each day with a smile and a sense of pride in the work that you do.
