Job Desciption:

The Specialist, Integration/Test Engineer (TE) performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and troubleshooting for total systems and or subsystems. The Specialist TE is part of a team that supports the requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne communication platforms.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand physical architecture incorporating voice, video, and data capability across multiple security domains
  • Review and evaluate electrical wiring diagrams to ensure design details trace to system requirements
  • Understand test, integration, verification, and validation planning
  • Perform effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements


Qualifications:

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant License
  • Avionics Testing and troubleshooting experience : Repair, test and inspection of avionics systems. Repair and maintenance of aircraft electrical systems.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
  • Must have an active Top Secret with SCI.
  • A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware in a multi-domain mobile airborne data-link, video, and voice systems environment
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with Aircraft communication system integration and communications ground/flight test support
  • Boeing experince. 757 preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with configuration and integration of aircraft RF and satellite communications systems, or cryptographic equipment


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Working knowledge of LAN and VOIP protocols to include IP routing
  • Knowledge of mission systems: EO/IR, Video, Networks, SI/EW, etc
  • Model-based Systems Engineering and Simulation experience
  • Troubleshooting and multi-level testing for RF applications
  • Knowledge of requirement traceability methods and purpose
  • Knowledge of the systems engineering trade study process
  • Experience conducting verification testing
  • Experience working with subcontractors and U.S. Government customers
  • Experience developing, authoring, and implementing system test plans
  • Engineering efforts involving FAA-certified general category aircraft
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation communications skills
  • Translate the voice of the customer into system level requirements
  • Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements
  • Develop and evaluate trade studies for accuracy and completeness
  • Evaluate alternative solutions and establish preliminary system designs
