As a Specialist, Gas Development Services, you will be responsible for economic development, business development and key account management activities for Enbridge Gas Ohio resulting in large customer growth.
This role provides you with an opportunity to be a seasoned professional and to be a part of a growing team within distribution sales. You will be able to improve our business as an energy leader, and this role will allow you to excel in your technical understanding of our business, processes, systems, and rates.
What You Will Do
Develop and execute an economic development strategy to attract and facilitate the development of new large-volume natural gas customers, especially with those exploring multiple sites across Enbridge Gas Ohio.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop creative strategies to facilitate large customer growth opportunities including development of distribution upgrade projects, customer contract negotiations, and various other innovative business development opportunities.
Develop and maintain key industry and stakeholder relationships including Jobs Ohio, Team NEO, and Regional Growth Partners, and the Ohio Economic Development Association. And respond to inquiries or requests for proposals for customer growth opportunities from these organizations.
Apply strategic sales cycle methodology to develop and leverage internal and external relationships to deliver incremental long-term revenue.
Recommend strategies and supporting tactics to implement policy changes needed to secure incremental investment by Enbridge Gas.
Contribute to regulatory strategy and rate case inquiries to support Enbridge Gas Ohio initiatives and economic development activities.
Drive large customer growth projects from inception to final contract and customer’s in-service. Negotiate commercial agreements with potential customers and existing customers, including confidentiality agreements, indemnification agreements, and service agreements.
Who You Are:
University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related industry experience and knowledge with 7+ years of experience in energy, utility, or related industry.
Demonstrated advanced understanding of regulatory, operations, growth, and finance.
Aptitude and communications skills related to leading without authority and acting independently.
Proven interpersonal, communication, negotiation, influence and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to be innovative, take initiative, lead and manage customer growth projects and negotiations.
Demonstrated experience in sales, business development, and project management.
Excellent organizational skills, consistent with having managed a complex system (e.g. growth process, taking a project from inception through to delivery with numerous internal partners and processes).

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Salary Ranges from $115,000 – $145,000 CAD for US locations based upon candidate’s experience, skills, and internal equity. Applicable compensation policies and guidelines apply to internal candidates.
