  • Present audit findings and insights to senior leadership for decision-making.
  • Assist the OIA Director in managing the Audit Program and Guest Auditor Program.
  • Contribute to annual planning and scheduling of audits.
  • Support stewardship activities and communications as needed.

We are hiring a Specialist Auditor, Operational Assurance. This position will play an important role in influencing and enabling improvement across the organization by providing assurance over controls related to operational risk. Minimum Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a discipline relevant to auditing assignments, such as Engineering, Science, or Technology
  • Five or more years of relevant experience in Operations, Process Safety, or Health & Safety within Oil & Gas, Mining, Refining, and/or Utilities
  • Experience working in an organization that uses management systems; experience developing, maintaining, or overseeing management system processes is considered an asset
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and at multiple levels of an organization
  • Experience leading or participating in management system audits and assessments is considered an asset

Responsibilities:
  • Lead audits from planning through execution, reporting, and follow-up activities
  • Assess conformance with Suncor's management system requirements and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in audits led by other team members
  • Train and mentor guest auditors and new audit team members to support consistent, high-quality audit outcomes
  • Present audit findings and insights to senior leaders
  • Support the OIA Director in the administration of the Audit Program, including the Guest Auditor Program
  • Contribute to annual audit planning and scheduling
  • Support stewardship activities and communications as required


Location and other Key details:
  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 - 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • Regular travel to site is required
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
