Your New Role...

CNN is seeking a Specialist, AI Innovation to support and drive the day-to-day execution of AI work across the newsroom. This position plays a key role in operationalizing projects and turning ideas into real tools, workflows and editorial use cases that improve how journalists work. You will help initiate, manage and move forward a growing portfolio of AI projects, while also working closely with reporters, producers and editors to understand how AI can support their day-to-day work. The role requires strong organizational skills, editorial judgment and a practical understanding of how AI tools can be applied in a newsroom setting while maintaining the highest editorial standards.

The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative and ambitious-someone who can keep complex projects and workstreams on track while contributing their own ideas and identifying opportunities for AI to make a meaningful impact.

Your Role Accountabilities...
  • Manage timelines, priorities and deliverables across a portfolio of AI Innovation projects, ensuring consistent progress across broad, cross-functional teams
  • Support intake and prioritization of new ideas and requests from across the newsroom, helping focus efforts on the highest-impact opportunities
  • Work closely with reporters, producers and editors to understand workflows and identify practical opportunities for AI to improve day-to-day work
  • Uphold CNN's standards of accuracy, fairness and transparency across AI-powered tools and AI-generated output
  • Partner with teams across editorial, product, engineering, legal, and business to keep projects aligned and moving forward
  • Champion adoption of AI tools and workflows, including trainings, onboarding and ongoing journalist support


Qualifications & Experience...
  • 4+ years of experience in a newsroom, digital media organization, or cross-functional role supporting editorial teams
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workflows, prioritize effectively, and deliver against deadlines in a fast-paced newsroom environment
  • Strong understanding of newsroom workflows, including reporting, editing, and video production
  • Hands-on experience applying AI tools to editorial or product workflows, including prompt development, testing, and evaluating outputs for accuracy and quality
  • Experience working with project management systems, data and analytics to assess performance, identify trends, and inform decisions
  • Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams on tool development, integrations, or workflow improvements
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and align stakeholders

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
