Description:

Position Summary:

The University of Toronto has implemented a successful tri-campus mental health strategy to improve services for all students as they undertake their academic and research goals. Located in the Office of the Vice Provost Students, the Senior Executive Director and Student Mental Health Team, collaborate with the tri-campus health centres, faculties, divisions and departments to optimize services, incorporate best practices and build university, hospital and community partnerships to achieve the vision of a service model that ensures equitable access to culturally competent mental health services and supports. Research, evaluation and measurement-based care are important pillars of this strategy as is engaging and collaborating with students in the co-design of solutions and projects that respond to student feedback and priorities.

Reporting to the Senior Executive Director the SPA supports the planning, implementation and maintenance of tri campus projects and initiatives. The SPA works collaboratively with leaders, colleagues and partners across UofT and externally. The SPA is a lead and resource enabling analytics and reporting to support projects and activities. The SPA is a member of the OVPS Tri Campus Student Mental Health Team and participates in meetings and discussion to enable the advancement of all initiatives.

Qualifications Required:

Education:

  • University degree required, or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Training and education in project management and data analytics.
  • Additional data and data analytics education an asset.
  • Project Management certificate an asset.


Experience:

  • Four years of project management or project administrative experience in a post-secondary setting and/or healthcare environment.
  • Training, education and experience working with data/data sets and software applications to support project implementation, progress reports and presentations.
  • Familiarity with EMR data architecture, metrics and indicators an asset.
  • Familiarity with student information systems and data an asset.
  • Proficiency in document preparation inclusive of project workplans, project summaries, presentations.
  • Experience with meeting preparation and management inclusive of agenda preparation, minutes, workplans and project documentation.


Skills:

  • Highly proficient computer software skills including Microsoft Office Suite, inclusive of SharePoint, Excel, Microsoft Planner, Teams etc.
  • Knowledge of Power BI - building and maintenance of data dashboards for the purposes of visualizing data and results etc.
  • Ability and interest in leveraging AI functionality to optimize the performance of all software applications.
  • Ability and interest to learn new applications such as an electronic medical record and integrated apps that support data collection in healthcare (e.g. Oceon, REDcap etc).


Other:

  • Demonstrated experience working in complex environments with cross-functional teams that include internal and external stakeholders, inclusive of students, university staff and faculty and community agencies and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of a complex academic environment, specifically with the University of Toronto an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to provide project guidance and information to senior level colleagues, teams and partners.
  • Adaptable, self-directed, results and detail oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, highly accountable team environment with multiple projects moving forward simultaneously and able to work both in a team and independently.
  • Ability to work with confidential material.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work independently, respond to and seek direction appropriately
  • Excellent organizational, collaboration skills and problem-solving skills.
