Special Education Teacher serving a school located in
Pocatello, ID. The
Special Education Teacher (SPED) will be responsible for providing teaching and case management services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs.
Job Details- Full-time school-based opportunity with a 37.5-hour weekly schedule
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available
- On-site, in-person position supporting students in Kindergarten through 12th grade
- Provide specialized educational services, complete student evaluations, support case management responsibilities, and collaborate with school teams
- Partner with teachers, families, and related service providers to develop and implement individualized student support plans
- Participate in progress monitoring, documentation, planning, and educational team meetings
- Guaranteed paid hours include direct services, documentation, administrative responsibilities, and planning time
- Receive ongoing collaboration and support from both the partnering school district and the TheraPeds team
- Maintain a manageable caseload within a supportive school environment
- Competitive compensation of $50-$60+ per hour, with estimated weekly earnings of approximately $1,875-$2250+
Responsibilities- Develop, implement, and assess individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Deliver instruction tailored to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
- Collaborate with parents, educators, and specialists to ensure a comprehensive approach to student learning and support.
- Monitor student progress and adapt instructional strategies to improve outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance, behavior, and progress to inform ongoing instruction and planning.
- Create a welcoming, safe, and productive classroom environment that encourages positive behavior and learning.
- Provide guidance and support to classroom staff in implementing educational strategies for students with special needs.
Requirements- Teaching Certification, Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special Education
- State License as as SPED teacher
- 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred
- Experience working with children
- Organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in use of technology
- Fingerprint background clearance
- Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
