Job Description and Responsibilities

This is a part-time or full time, on-site role as a Special Education Teacher serving a school located in Pocatello, ID.

The Special Education Teacher (SPED) will be responsible for providing teaching and case management services to students, conducting assessments, developing IEP plans, evaluating progress, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (therapists, educators, parents). The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a passion for working with students with special needs.

Job Details

  • Full-time school-based opportunity with a 37.5-hour weekly schedule
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities available
  • On-site, in-person position supporting students in Kindergarten through 12th grade
  • Provide specialized educational services, complete student evaluations, support case management responsibilities, and collaborate with school teams
  • Partner with teachers, families, and related service providers to develop and implement individualized student support plans
  • Participate in progress monitoring, documentation, planning, and educational team meetings
  • Guaranteed paid hours include direct services, documentation, administrative responsibilities, and planning time
  • Receive ongoing collaboration and support from both the partnering school district and the TheraPeds team
  • Maintain a manageable caseload within a supportive school environment
  • Competitive compensation of $50-$60+ per hour, with estimated weekly earnings of approximately $1,875-$2250+

Requirements

  • Teaching Certification, Bachelors or Masters Degree or higher in Special Education
  • State License as as SPED teacher
  • 1+ years of experience in a school setting preferred
  • Experience working with children
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in use of technology
  • Fingerprint background clearance
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications


Physical Requirements

Working and playing with students requires that employees must be able to perform the necessary physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities, while adhering to the duties outlined by the district.
