Full Job Description
Middle School Special Education Teacher Reports to: Principal Location: Ephraim Curtis Middle School Position Summary: The Sudbury Public Schools, a prek-8 district, is seeking a skilled and dynamic special education teacher to work at the Curtis Middle School. The special education teacher/sub will work in a model of service delivery offering academic support, co-teaching, and inclusionary practice in the general education classroom combined with pull out Skills Center instruction for small groups and individuals. Special Education Moderate Disabilities Certification required. Experience teaching a language-based ELA class preferred. Key Duties & Responsibilities: • Plan for the effective instruction and intervention for students on IEPs; • Administer formal diagnostic assessments and tests for students initially referred and for three-year reevaluations of caseload students; • Administer ongoing progress monitoring, strategic monitoring and benchmark systems; • Schedule, prepare for, and attend Team meetings for newly referred and caseload students; • Write comprehensive progress reports; • Collaborate with general education staff with respect to appropriate accommodations and modifications; • Provide ongoing positive communication with parents; • Collect and analyze student data against IEP goals; • Other related duties as assigned. Classification: SEA Unit Position Salary: Commensurate with education and experience based on the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Bachelor to M+60 Lanes Steps 1-16 - From Approx: $58,000-$130,000 Based on degree and years of experience and prorated based on FTE Work Year:183 days (1.0 FTE) Hiring is contingent upon a successful CORI and fingerprinting clearance.
