DESCRIPTION

Academic Intervention Support (AIS) Teacher, Elementary Literacy and Math

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provide daily instruction for students in accordance with Board approved curriculum.

RESPONSIBILITILES:
Instruction & Intervention
  • Targeted Small-Group Instruction: Design and deliver explicit, research-based interventions in early literacy (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension) and foundational mathematics (number sense, early operations, and problem-solving) for tier 3 intervention groups.
  • Curriculum Integration: Align intervention lessons with state learning standards and core classroom curricula to ensure continuity and reinforcement of classroom learning.
  • Differentiated Learning: Adapt instructional methods, materials, and pace to meet the diverse learning styles, needs, and language profiles of young learners.
Data, Assessment & Progress Monitoring
  • Progress Monitoring: Regularly collect, analyze, and document quantitative and qualitative student data to assess progress toward targeted benchmarks.
  • Data-Driven Decisions: Use diagnostic assessments and progress monitoring tools to adjust instruction, and goal setting dynamically.
  • Team Collaboration: Active participation in Intervention & Referral Services (I&RS) team meetings to review student data, discuss placement, and refine intervention plans.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Teacher Collaboration: Partner with general education teachers. student goals, progress, and home strategies to support learning.
  • Family Engagement: Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student goals, progress, and home strategies to support learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Appropriate New Jersey Certification required: Elementary Certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bilingual/Multilingual
  • Master's degree in education or related field

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

10 - Month Contract. Salary and benefits as determined by the Board of Education and any

applicable and collective negotiations agreement.

COMPENSATION

In accordance with the provisions of the BOE/FTEA collective bargaining agreement, the salary range for this position in the 26/27 SY is Step 1 BA/BS ($68,023) - Step 18 PhD/EdD ($99,380). Compensation will be commensurate with experience and education.
