Job Description

SAIC is seeking a Special Assistant to provide exceptional support to the Department of War (DoW) Director of the Office of Strategic Capital (OSC). This is an exciting position that requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional seeking to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and contribute to significant national defense initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to ensure the day-to-day operational success of the Director.

This position is full-time on site in Washington, DC.

Job Description:
  • In coordination with the Director's Executive Assistant, efficiently manage and optimize the Senior Leader's complex and fast-moving schedule.
  • Assist with prioritization and de-confliction of meetings and events to ensure seamless daily operations.
  • Track high priority initiatives for the Director and work with OSC teams to execute strategic projects and efforts.
  • Ensure preparedness for all meetings and events and accompany the Director to ensure smooth logistics and track action items.
  • Prepare briefing materials, organizing files, and maintain sensitive documents.
  • Anticipate the needs of leadership by proactively identifying potential issues and providing innovative solutions to address them swiftly.
  • Exercise independent judgment in coordinating cross-functional initiatives, assessing priorities, and making recommendations that support the Director's strategic objectives.
  • Conduct research, analyze information, and prepare executive-level summaries or recommendations to inform leadership decision-making on complex organizational and strategic matters.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors and three (3) years or more of related experience; Masters and one year of related experience.
  • No clearance required to start; Ability to obtain a TS/SCI required to maintain employment.
  • US citizenship.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leaders, team members, and external partners.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities with flexibility and resilience.
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and anticipating the needs of customer.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and manage competing priorities effectively.
