Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in program management within supply chain tooling and automation, manufacturing, or hardware operations at an executive level.
  • Proven track record of managing complex financial models and driving large-scale CapEx efficiency initiatives.


About the job

This Field Replaceable Units (FRUs) Planning Strategy Program Manager role is a critical leadership position focused on scaling Google's Machine Learning (ML) infrastructure. In this role, you will lead the expansion of the Spares team into ML lifecycle planning, specifically driving the Spares Business Case Review (BCR) process capability and the ML Return Material Authorization (RMA) Cycle Time (CT) reduction roadmap. You will require navigating fluid and evolving landscapes to solve systemic organizational challenges and securing alignment across broad cross-functional boundaries including NPI, GHQR, GCL, GMO and Finance teams.

Responsibilities
  • Establish a scalable NPI engagement model for Spares and RMA, ensuring early involvement (pre-BCR) to plan for capacity, risk buys, and FRU strategies.
  • Orchestrate the Spares cost model post-BCR. Define key drivers, including quality, RMA, and lifecycle expectations, and align them with a comprehensive Spares cost strategy.
  • Lead coordination with NPI, GHQR, GMO, and Finance to validate critical assumptions such as swap rates, cycle times, and deployment volumes.
  • Manage cost model calculations to handle volatility. Implement a formal quarterly review process to validate assumptions and drive cross-functional gap resolution.
  • Drive initiatives for CapEx avoidance and hardware reuse. Produce metrics on total capex and inventory efficiency gained via the reverse supply chain. Advocate the AI2 How culture by fostering ownership and high performance within the FRU Planning and RMA team.
