Full Job Description
SAIC is looking for a Satellite Systems Engineer with deep Space Vehicle Assembly Integration and Test (SV AI&T) experience in Chantilly, VA to support a very dynamic and innovative space program office in Chantilly, VA. In this position, you will provide technical support, coaching and mentoring Government points of contact (GPOCs) relative to ongoing SV AI&T activities happening across diverse geographically located contractor facilities. You will also be coordinating other scopes of related work such as major program reviews, such as SV Pre-Ship Review (PSR). The job requires knowledge of SV AI&T processes and plans, excellent communication and collaboration skills, the ability to create unique work products, while having the ability to be strategically proactive. This position requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph. The Satellite Systems Engineer directly supports the GPOC overseeing SV AI&T providing critical insight to the prime contractor's execution of AI&T. Role Responsibilities: • Direct ATLO operations and activities • Support staffing, planning and headcount allocation to ensure adequate in-plant coverage for critical operations • Support ATLO schedule assessments and AI&T planning activities • Facilitate factory inquiries and on-site visits • Track special topics impacting AI&T progress and participate in relate forums and working groups to facilitate resolution • Review procedures, witness floor operations, and provide independent verification to improve operational safety and efficiency • Conduct requirements and CONOPs reviews; providing feedback as necessary • Provide MIP (Mandatory Inspection Point) coverage and report when available • Inform customer of AI&T status via verbal, daily written and ad hoc reports • Leverage contractor reports, floor walks, and interviews to maintain situational awareness • Serve as primary communication channel for technical and operational updates Qualifications Required: • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field • 9-14 year experience in ATLO, AI&T or Systems engineering for space programs • Proven leadership in SETA activities, including team management and stakeholder coordination • Familiarity with DoW/IC programs and SOW compliance • Strong organizational and communication skills within high pressure environments • Experience in reviewing installation/test procedures, monitoring execution, identifying risks, discrepancy resolution and on-site support Desired: • INCOSE ESEP or CSEP • Master degree and 8 years experience • Experience using systems engineering processes, methods, tools, and program roles to develop, implement, and deploy solutions for Satellite Systems. • Experience as an intelligence analyst with demonstrated skills in communicating with analytical communities • Thorough understanding of space systems design, integration and test requirements and test execution, including test equipment support. • Experience in Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) construct and Earned Value processes.
