JOB DESCRIPTION

Metro Group Inc., a dynamic and growing metal recycling company, is on the lookout for an exceptional District Manager. We're not just any scrap yard; we're committed to redefining the industry with our integrity-driven approach and a passion for excellence.

What You'll Do:
  • Safety Leadership: Safety isn't just a priority - it's our foundation. You will champion a culture where safety comes first, set high standards and ensure consistent compliance across all locations, lead proactive hazard prevention and continuous improvement efforts, and hold teams accountable while empowering them to take ownership.
  • Operational Excellence: You will drive strong, consistent performance across multiple facilities. You will oversee purchasing, processing, upgrading, and shipping operations, improve labor efficiency, throughput, and workflow, standardize best practices to create predictable high-quality results, and ensure disciplined inventory control and shipping cadence.
  • Financial Performance: You will turn strong operations into strong financial results through analyzing performance data and key metrics, driving margin improvement and cost control initiatives, and ensuring operational decisions align with financial goals.
  • Leadership & Talent Development: You will coach and develop General Managers and Yard Foremen, strengthen leadership pipelines and bench strength, improve hiring quality and reduce turnover, and foster a culture built on integrity, accountability, respect, and growth.
  • Strategy & Continuous Improvement: You will develop reporting tools that drive clarity and accountability, identify performance gaps and implement structured improvement plans, and ensure lasting results through follow-up and measurement.

Work Schedule: Day shift, Monday through Friday.

Main Location: You will be based out the of the Metro Group main location, but will be required to visit the Southern District yards.
