Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for high-value equipment and services.

  • Negotiate complex contracts and pricing directly with suppliers.
  • Structure contracts and manage supplier edits using tracked changes in Microsoft Word.
  • Lead sourcing efforts for large equipment bid events and related contracts.
  • Manage Master Service Agreements and purchase orders post-award.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and monitor supply market conditions.

Full Job Description
SENIOR SOURCING SPECIALIST

THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING
  • Join the Supply Chain organization of a large, established energy and utilities company supporting major capital projects and operational initiatives
  • Partner directly with project managers, engineering teams, plant stakeholders, suppliers, and Supply Chain leadership
  • Support strategic sourcing initiatives for large, engineered equipment and high-value contracts
  • Work within a highly visible sourcing function responsible for complex equipment bid events, purchase orders, Master Service Agreements, and Alliance Agreements

LOCATION
  • Charlotte, NC - Hybrid
  • Onsite approximately 3 days per week following the onboarding period
  • Some travel to operational/plant locations required; occasional overnight travel may be necessary
  • Travel expenses reimbursed

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for high-value equipment, materials, and services
  • Lead RFQ/RFP processes, evaluate supplier bids, perform commercial analysis, and recommend contract awards
  • Negotiate complex contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions directly with suppliers and manufacturers
  • Structure contracts and disposition supplier edits using tracked changes in Microsoft Word
  • Lead sourcing efforts for large equipment bid events and purchase order contracts
  • Manage Master Service Agreements, Alliance Agreements, purchase orders, amendments, and change orders
  • Manage suppliers after award, including claims, disputes, invoice discrepancies, price changes, and contract modifications
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, and improved commercial terms
  • Monitor supply markets, commodity conditions, and supplier capabilities to support sourcing decisions

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
  • Bachelor`s degree with 5-10 years of Supply Chain, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Contracting experience
  • Strong experience sourcing and negotiating large equipment contracts
  • Proven ability to independently negotiate complex, high-value contracts and terms & conditions
  • Experience structuring contracts and reviewing/redlining contractual language in Microsoft Word
  • Strong background managing RFQs/RFPs, supplier negotiations, contract awards, and post-award activities
  • Experience supporting capital projects, engineered equipment, power generation, utilities, industrial facilities, or similarly complex environments strongly preferred
  • Power plant equipment sourcing or major utility experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with ERP and e-sourcing platforms such as Maximo or PowerAdvocate is a plus
  • CPM and/or CPSM certification is a plus
