WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT
Own the accounting for the company's corporate entities, including the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records and reporting
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations
Maintain the integrity of the corporate general ledger and oversee accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, debt, intercompany activity, and other corporate-level transactions
Prepare corporate financial statements and management reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies
Review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner
Manage, develop, and provide direction to the corporate accounting team
Support treasury activities, company-wide cash forecasting, and preparation of annual consolidated financial statements and footnotes
Champion process improvement, automation, and adoption of technology and systems to improve efficiency and data integrity
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with significant corporate or industry accounting experience
Experience taking ownership of the accounting for one or more entities or business units
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial close processes
Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles
Experience with monthly and annual financial close processes
Strong account reconciliation and analytical skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and identify and resolve issues
ERP, multi-entity, and accounting process automation experience preferred
Public accounting experience is a plus, but not required
