Job Summary

The Sourcing Principal supports the Sourcing Manager in executing PRADCO Outdoor Brands' global product sourcing strategy. This role plays a hands-on part in managing day-to-day supplier communications, coordinating sample and production timelines, tracking costs, and ensuring quality standards are met across international manufacturing partners. The Sourcing Principal is a key liaison between overseas suppliers and internal teams, helping to keep product development and production on schedule.

Job Responsibilities

Supplier Coordination and Communication
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with overseas suppliers for day-to-day sourcing activities, production inquiries, and issue resolution.
  • Assist in onboarding new suppliers, including gathering documentation, capability assessments, and compliance materials.
  • Maintain accurate supplier records, contact databases, and performance tracking files.
  • Support preparation for supplier business reviews and factory visits.


Sampling and Product Development Support
  • Coordinate sample requests between internal teams and suppliers, tracking sample status, revisions, and approvals through the development cycle.
  • Review samples against specifications and communicate feedback to suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Assist Product Development teams with sourcing feasibility assessments, material options, and cost estimates during the new product introduction process.
  • Maintain accurate product specification sheets and bill-of-materials records in coordination with internal teams.


Costing and Negotiation Support
  • Request and analyze supplier quotes; build and maintain cost comparison tools to support sourcing decisions.
  • Assist the Sourcing Manager in price negotiations and identifying cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Track landed cost components including product cost, freight, duties, and other import charges.
  • Identify cost-engineering opportunities and communicate findings to the Sourcing Manager.


Supply Chain and Production Tracking
  • Monitor production schedules and purchase order milestones, proactively communicating delays or risks to internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics partners to support timely shipment of goods.
  • Assist in tracking inbound shipments and maintaining accurate delivery records.
  • Support inventory planning teams with production status updates and lead time inputs.


Reporting and Administration
  • Prepare sourcing reports, status updates, and supplier scorecards for internal review.
  • Maintain organized sourcing files including contracts, quotes, approvals, and correspondence.
  • Support the Sourcing Manager with special projects, presentations, and ad hoc analysis as needed.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, International Trade, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain, with some exposure to international suppliers.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, cost models) and Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in documentation and data management.
