This role is ideal for a sourcing professional with a strong technical background and experience managing supplier development and sourcing activities printed circuit boards (PCB), printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA), Electronic components and High-Speed Cables assemblies. The successful candidate will partner closely with Product Development Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and suppliers to drive sourcing strategy, technical feasibility, cost competitiveness, and supply readiness for next-generation high-speed cables: ACC and DAC.

The individual will support the Sourcing Engineer responsible for the expanding ACC and DAC portfolio, proactively identify sourcing risks, and execute against aggressive project timelines. The ideal candidate combines electronics commodity knowledge with practical exposure to cable and connector assemblies and supporting electromechanical hardware, demonstrates ownership and urgency, and can influence cross-functional teams and suppliers to deliver results.

What You Will Do
  • Represent NPD Sourcing as a core member of cross-functional project teams and align sourcing deliverables with project requirements, milestones, cost targets, and risk priorities.
  • Develop and execute project and component sourcing strategies aligned with category strategy, preferred-supplier direction, regionalization objectives, and program requirements.
  • Engage suppliers early, including before formal RFQ release when appropriate, to obtain technical input, assess capability, and improve the quality of the sourcing event.
  • Prepare and issue complete RFQ packages in partnership with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Program Management, including available specifications, forecasts, timing, quality requirements, and commercial expectations.
  • Perform, drive, and facilitate supplier Technical Reviews and Feasibility Reviews at the RFQ stage. Ensure open technical items, assumptions, exceptions, DFM feedback, capacity constraints, and proposed mitigations are documented and resolved or formally risk managed.
  • Confirm supplier technical feasibility and organizational capability before including the supplier in the Total Cost of Ownership evaluation and supplier nomination process.
  • Lead TCO evaluations using technical capability, piece price, tooling and capital, logistics, quality, capacity, lead time, geographic risk, payment terms, and lifecycle economics as applicable.
  • Lead or support commercial negotiations, cost-breakdown reviews, should-cost analysis, and cost-roadmap development to achieve project BOM and capital targets.
  • Drive early identification, escalation, and mitigation of supplier, technology, tooling, capacity, quality, commercial, and continuity risks.
  • Coordinate supplier onboarding, qualification planning, tooling kickoff, prototype and first-off-tool readiness, and other sourcing deliverables required to establish an executable supply path.
  • Maintain accurate sourcing status, supplier decisions, cost information, risks, actions, and project documentation in the applicable systems and trackers.
  • Execute a disciplined NPD handover with complete sourcing strategy, supplier, cost, tooling, risk, and readiness documentation at the defined transition milestone.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Previous knowledge in: PCB, PCBA/SMT, Die-Casting, Loose stamping and Plastic injection or related manufacturing processes.
  • Previous procurement experience working with Electronic Components (Passives, ICs, Amplifiers) Distributors and Manufacturers directly.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Previous experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Supplier Development, Manufacturing Engineering or a related function.
  • Working knowledge of RFQ execution, Supplier qualification and Development, Technical and Feasibility reviews, TCO analysis, Cost breakdowns, and commercial negotiation.
  • Experience working with Global Suppliers and Cross-Functional teams.
  • Experience facilitating technical discussions between suppliers and engineering teams to evaluate manufacturability, feasibility, capacity, timing, and supply-chain risk.


What Will Put You Ahead
  • Demonstrated experience supporting New Product Development (NPD) programs, including early sourcing engagement, cross-functional execution, supplier selection, and product-launch readiness.
  • Proven supplier development experience, including capability and capacity assessments, technical and feasibility reviews, qualification planning, tooling execution, risk mitigation, and manufacturing-readiness activities.
  • Experience or strong technical knowledge of high-speed cables, cable assemblies, connectors, high-speed interconnect systems, and associated manufacturing technologies.
  • Familiarity with data-center infrastructure and hyperscale customer requirements, operating environments, qualification expectations, reliability standards, rapid technology cycles, and supply-continuity priorities.
  • Supply Chain or Procurement certification-such as CPSM, CPIM, CSCP, CPM, or equivalent-and demonstrated capability in commercial and pricing negotiations, cost-breakdown analysis, should-cost modeling, and total-cost-of-ownership decisions.


For this role, we anticipate paying $95,000 - $120,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
