Sonographer I - Diagnostic

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:00pm - 6:30am, On call for holidays (1/year)

Akron City campus

Eligible for up to $20,000 hire on incentive

Summary:
Operates ultrasound equipment to produce ultrasound studies related to specific specialty. Identifies, records, and adapts procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.

Formal Education Required:
a. Completion of a Sonography program from an accredited school of ultrasound technology.
OR One (1) year of full-time ultrasound experience specific to field of posted position.
b. Registered in field of experience (RVS, RVT, RDMS, RCS, RDCS).
c. Basic Life Support

a. Ability to assume collaborative relationship with physicians and other allied health care professionals.
b. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, health care personnel, patients, families, and visitors.
c. Provides quality exams in this modality on a routine basis
d. Ability to calibrate and operate equipment.
e. Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment.
f. Ability to independently prioritize work and effectively resolve problems.
g. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
h. Ability to work as a team member.
i. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

Level of Physical Demands:
a. Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.

$38.68/hr - $51.07/hr

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
